オフスプリングのヌードルズ、新型コロナの症状を説明

オフスプリングのギタリスト、ヌードルズが週末（10月9日）、先月末感染した新型コロナウイルスの症状について説明した。オフスプリングは、今月初め、2公演をキャンセルしていた。
ヌードルズは風邪気味だったことから検査を受けたところ、9月27日、陽性だと判明したという。「すぐにマネージメント、バンド、クルーに連絡を入れた。十分な注意を払い、デンバーとSLCでの公演を中止した。俺が陽性だったことから、他の連中も検査を受けた。その結果について俺は打ち明けるつもりはない。だから、他人のことは俺に聞くな。自分の健康については、それぞれ言いたければ言うだろう。重要なのは、出歩いて安全になるまで全員が隔離したってことだ。今週初めの検査で、ツアーに参加している全員が陰性だった」
「俺らの大半が、具合悪くなることはなかった。俺の妻は俺が感染している間、横で寝ていたが、感染しなかった。俺は最長で2、3日体調が悪かった。鼻水と喉の痛みだ。29日（水曜日）には、熱はなく、症状はほぼ消えていた。有難いことにツアーの参加者全員がワクチンを受けていたが、それでも俺は感染した。リスクは常につきものだ。とくにデルタ株は。ワクチン受けていたおかげで、俺はすぐに回復し、誰かにうつす可能性は低かった」
「公演をキャンセルしてしまい、申し訳ない。でも、リスクを最小限に抑える必要があった。安全で、お互いを気にかけ、そしてワクチンを接種してくれ。ワクチンが俺の命を救ったのかもしれない。（症状を）楽にしてくれたのは確かだ」
オフスプリングは土曜日（10月9日）、ツアーを再開した。
病歴からワクチンの副反応を懸念し、接種しなかったドラマーのピート・パラダは、8月初め、オフスプリングの活動から離脱することを発表しており、ツアーにはヴァンダルズ／ディーヴォのジョシュ・フリースが参加している。

I tested positive for Covid on the 27th of last month. I was in Philly with my wife & we were supposed to travel to NYC for a couple of days. I had a slight cold & thought I better get tested before traveling. My wife tested negative, but not me.

I immediately reached out to management, the band, & crew. We canceled the Denver & SLC shows at that time out of an abundance of caution. My positive test led to others getting tested. I’m not going to divulge who got what.

So don’t ask me for any information about anyone else. If anyone else wants to talk about their health it is up to them. The important thing is everyone isolated until we were safe to be around. Earlier this week everyone on our tour tested negative.

Most of our tour party never got sick. My wife who slept next to me while I had it never caught it. I was sick for 2-3 days at most. Runny nose & sore throat. By Wednesday the 29th I was fever free and my symptoms were almost entirely gone.

Everyone on our tour is vaccinated, thankfully, but I still managed to get it. There’s always that risk, especially with the Delta variant. Because I am vaxxed I got over it very quickly and was less likely to spread it to someone else.

I’m sorry that we had to cancel a couple of shows but we have to do what we can to minimize the risks. Stay safe, take care of each other, & get vaccinated. The vaccine might’ve just saved my life. It certainly made it easier.
