デペッシュ・モード、ロックの殿堂入りに「長年、僕らを支援してくれたみんなに感謝」
ロックの殿堂入りが決まったデペッシュ・モードが、コメントを出した。
バンドは1月15日に殿堂入りするアーティストの発表があってすぐ、こうつぶやいた。「今年、ロックの殿堂入りするアーティストに僕らが含まれ、彼ら、そしてすでに殿堂入りしている素晴らしい人たちと並ぶことを光栄に思う。長年、僕らや僕らの音楽を支援してくれた全ての人たちに大感謝 #RockHall2020」
デペッシュ・モードが殿堂の候補に挙がるのは、今年が3度目だった。

デペッシュ・モードは、現メンバーのデヴィッド・ガーン（Vo）、マーティン・ゴア（G/Key）、アンディ・フレッチャー（Key/B）に、創設メンバーのヴィンス・クラーク（Key）、1982～1995年に在籍したアラン・ワイルダー（Key/Ds）が殿堂入りする。
5月2日に開かれるセレモニーで、彼らがどのような形でプレイするかが注目される。ワイルダーは2010年、英国で開催されたチャリティ公演＜Teenage Cancer Trust＞で、デペッシュ・モードのパフォーマンスにゲスト出演したことがある。1曲のみだったが、「Somebody」でリユニオンした。
