ウルフギャング・ヴァン・ヘイレン、エドワードの壁画「似てない」に反論
米LAにある老舗楽器店ギター・センターに故エドワード・ヴァン・ヘイレンの壁画が誕生したことに対し、息子ウルフギャングが感謝の言葉を上げ、似ていないとの批判に反論した。
壁画は1月26日、エドワードの誕生日に公開された。ウルフギャングは翌日、壁画を制作したアーティストのRobert Vargasとギター・センターへ向け、「心から感謝の意を表したい」「父がこのような美しい形で永遠に残るのを目にできるとは、なんて栄誉だ」とつぶやいた。
そして、「エディのこと大好きだけど、これは全然彼に見えない」との意見が上がったことに、「君さあ、メガネかけた方がいいよ」「この壁画は凄い。完璧だ。理由はなんであれ、 “ある特定の芸術作品が好きになれない”っていうのは理解できるよ。でも、これが彼に似ていないと言うのは自分をバカっぽく見せるだけだ。好みの問題じゃない。間違ってる」と反論し、エドワードが壁画と同じポーズを取る写真と壁画を並べて投稿した。

エドワードのメモリアルに関しては、同じくカリフォルニア州のパサデナ（アメリカにおける彼の故郷）でも彼の銅像を建立しようとの計画が上っているという。
