『NME』、紙媒体終了にミュージシャンから惜しむ声
英国の代表的な音楽誌『NME』が水曜日（3月7日）、紙媒体の発行を終了すると発表した。今週金曜日（9日）出版される号を最後に、その66年の歴史に幕を閉じる。
『New Musical Express』として1952年に創刊されて以来、ピーク時の1964年には30万以上の読者があり、長年に渡り多大な影響力を持ってきたが、雑誌離れの時勢には勝てず、部数は年々減少。1万5,000部まで落ちた2015年にフリー・ペーパーとして発行されるようになったが、制作コストの上昇と広告市場の縮小により、それも難しくなったという。
アイコニックな音楽誌の廃刊に、ポール・ウェラー、カサビアン、リバティーンズ、シャーラタンズら多くのミュージシャンや音楽ファン、メディアから惜しむ声が上がっている。
