ロイヤル・ブラッド、4年ぶりニュー・アルバムをリリース

ロイヤル・ブラッドのニュー・アルバム『TYPHOONS』が4月30日（金）にリリースされることが明らかになっている。2017年の『ハウ・ディド・ウィ・ゲット・ソー・ダーク？』に続く、約4年ぶりの新作だ。
収録曲は、2020年9月にリリースされた先行シングル「Trouble’s Coming」をはじめとする全11曲。この発表とあわせて表題曲「Typhoons」が公開された。

This song was one those special moments where the process didn’t resemble writing whatsoever. More like being tethered to the earth, receiving holy lightning.

マイク・カー（Vo,B）は次のようにコメントしている。
「このサウンドを偶然見つけて、すぐにプレイするのが楽しくなったんだ。これがニュー・アルバムでクリエイティヴィティをスパークさせている原動力なんだよ。あのフィーリングを追い求めていたんだ。でも不思議なことに“Figure it Out”あたりを振り返ってみても、この新作の胎芽はもう含まれているんだ」
「これまで僕らが築いていたものを破壊する必要がないことは分かっていたんだ。ただ単純にシフトしたりチェンジしたりしたところはあったけどね。当初はちょっとしたリ・インベンション（再発明）ぐらいを思い描いていたんだけど、きっと新しい感じに聞こえると思うよ」
