ブリット・アワーズ、2つのコラボが話題に
コールドプレイとザ・チェインスモーカーズが、＜Brit Awards 2017＞でコラボ・ソング「Something Just Like This」をプレミアした。曲は同日、ダウンロード・リリースされた。
クリス・マーティンはこの新曲を披露する前、ジョージ・マイケルを追悼し、ワム!の「A Different Corner」をパフォーマンス。生前のジョージのヴォーカルと共演も果たした。
水曜日（2月22日）ロンドンのO2アリーナで開かれた＜Brit Awards 2017＞では、エド・シーランとグライム/ヒップホップ・アーティストSormzyとのコラボレーションも見られた。シーランは新曲「Castle On The Hill」に続き、No.1シングル「Shape Of You」をプレイし、その途中からSormzyが参加した。ラップのスパイスが効いた新ヴァージョンは、大好評だった。
このほか、ケイティ・ペリーが新曲「Chained To The Rhythm」をスキップ・マーリーとパフォーマンス。
授賞式は、ブリティッシュ・シングル・オブ・ザ・イヤーを受賞することになったリトル・ミックスの「Shout Out To My Ex」で幕を開け、ブリッツ・アイコンの受賞者ロビー・ウィリアムスが「The Heavy Entertainment Show」「Love My Life」「Mixed Signals」でトリを飾った。
ブルーノ・マーズ、最優秀ブリティッシュ女性ソロ・アーティストに輝いたエミリー・サンデー、最優秀ブリティッシュ・グループのThe 1975のパフォーマンスもショウに華を添えた。
