オジー、スコーピオンズ、ホワイトスネイクらの作品を手掛けたプロデューサーのキース・オルセンが死去
オジー・オズボーン、フリートウッド・マック、スコーピオンズ、ホワイトスネイク、バッド・カンパニー、ハート、リック・スプリングフィールドら多くのミュージシャンの作品を手掛けてきたプロデューサー／サウンド・エンジニアのキース・オルセンが亡くなった。
60年代、ロック・バンドThe Music Machineのベーシストとして活動したオルセンは、リンジー・バッキンガム、スティーヴィー・ニックスと親しくなり、彼らのアルバム『Buckingham Nicks』（1973年）をプロデュース。2年後には、フリートウッド・マックの『ファンタスティック・マック』を共同プロデュースし、同作は全米1位に輝いた。
その後、リック・スプリングフィールドの代表曲「Jessie’s Girl」（1981年）、オジーの『No Rest For The Wicked』（1988年）ほか、ジョー・ウォルシュ、サンタナ、REOスピードワゴン、ヨーロッパ、サミー・ヘイガー、エディ・マネー、フォリナーら数えきれないほどのアーティストと共作してきた。
オルセンと『Crazy World』（1990年）を共同プロデュースしたスコーピオンズは、「キースは、僕らのCrazy Worldを含め、象徴的なアルバムをたくさんプロデュースした…。素晴らしい人で、Crazy Worldの制作はインスピレーションに溢れた旅だった」「彼の家族にお悔やみを…RIP キース…君は音楽の中に生き続ける」と、追悼の言葉を寄せた。

2) that works.” He didn’t produce all those hits for all those musicians for no reason. He had a golden ear and helped so many people reach their potential. I remember playing him my demos and he picked “Jessie’s Girl” out of a batch of 15 songs and said “This is a hit.”
