モンキーズのマイク・ネスミスの突然の訃報に、ブライアン・ウィルソン、キッスのポール・スタンレー、キャロル・キング、スラッシュ、ロブ・ゾンビらミュージシャンから追悼の言葉が寄せられた。
ブライアン・ウィルソンは、「マイク・ネスミスのことを聞き、残念に思う。モンキーズには素晴らしい曲がいくつもあり、楽しい時代だった。マイクの家族と友人たちへラヴ＆マーシーを」と、ポール・スタンレーは「ワオ！ ある人の死がどうして僕らに特別な衝撃を与えるのかわからないが、僕にとっては、今回もそうだ。不朽だと思っていた人たちが亡くなると、自分の世界が変わるのがわかる。ハッとさせられる。Lives end and life goes on RIPマイク・ネスミス」とつぶやいている。
