マシン・ガン・ケリー、カミソリの刃型ギター批判に「アートとは物議を醸すもの」
マシン・ガン・ケリーが、新たに発売したシグネチャー・ギター“Razor Blade”が物議を醸していることに対しコメントした。ギターメーカー、シェクターと提携し製造されたこのギターは、名前のとおり、カミソリの刃を模っており、クールとの声が上がる一方、デザインを批判する人々も出た。
マシン・ガン・ケリーは、それらに対し、こうつぶやいている。「俺は自分のアートについて説明はしない。なぜなら、真のアートは対話を生み、常にさまざまな解釈が可能だから。でも、これは言っておく。君らの大半は年中、誤った解釈をしている。そして、僕のアートに対し君らが思いついた君らの見解で僕を非難する。結局のところ、人々が概して僕のことをどう見ているのか、僕は悲しくなるよ。ピース」
フォーリング・イン・リヴァースのヴォーカリスト、ロニー・ラドクは、カミソリの刃型のギターについてXユーザーから意見を求められると、「僕はどちらの側にも飛びつかないが、自傷行為の誘因になるかもってカミソリの刃ギターについて文句を言うのは、迷走し過ぎでは？一方で、人々を銃で殺害している僕のビデオには“いいね”するのに？」と述べている。
