アリアナ・グランデ、新曲「7 rings」をリリース
アリアナ・グランデのニュー・シングル「7 rings」が本日1月18日にリリースされた。併せて、同曲のミュージック・ビデオも公開されている。
2018年の『Sweetener』に続くニュー・アルバムを準備中と伝えられるアリアナは、11月に「thank u, next」、12月に「imagine」と、昨秋から次々と意欲作を発表し注目を集めてきた。これに続く2019年第1弾となる「7 rings」は、『サウンド・オブ・ミュージック』でおなじみの名曲「My Favorite Things（邦題：私のお気に入り）」をオマージュした歌い出しからトラップのビートに乗せたラップ・パートへと展開していく、『Sweetener』の進化形ともいえるサウンドが印象的な一曲だ。
曲中でも《指輪をはめているけど、ミセスではない。6人の女友達にも同じダイアモンドを買ったの》と歌われるとおり、タイトルの「7 rings」は自身が親しい友人たちに購入したお揃いの指輪を示すものだという。鮮やかなピンクを基調に女子たちのパーティー風景を描いたミュージック・ビデオには、6人の友人も実際に登場。ファンの間では、アリアナの愛犬・トゥールースのカメオ出演も話題を呼んでいる。
車のナンバープレートや小道具、ところどころで確認できる日本語の文字といったディテールも楽しい、楽曲の世界観にぴったりのビデオが完成した。
