パニック！アット・ザ・ディスコ、約4年ぶりニュー・アルバムをリリース

パニック！アット・ザ・ディスコが、ニュー・アルバム『ヴィヴァ・ラス・ヴェンジャンス』を8月19日にリリースすると発表した。2018年の『プレイ・フォー・ザ・ウィキッド』以来約4年ぶり、通算7枚目のスタジオ・アルバムだ。
リリースの告知と同時に表題曲「ヴィヴァ・ラス・ヴェンジャンス」のデジタル配信がスタートし、ブレンドン・ウォルターが手がけたミュージックビデオも公開された。
アルバムの制作にはジェイク・シンクレアやマイク・ヴァイオラが参加し、ロサンゼルスのスタジオでレコーディングが行われたという。ブレンドン・ユーリーは 「“Viva Las Vengeance”は、17年前の自分、そして昔は持ち合わせていなかった寛容な心を今持つ自分を振り返る作品だ。テープ・マシーンに正直になり、自然とアルバムを作る流れになったんだ」と語っている。
9月からは新作のリリースに伴うワールド・ツアーが開催される。チケット販売による収益の一部は、ジェンダーや人種、宗教、性的指向、性同一性をめぐり差別や虐待を受けている人々を支援する「Highest Hopes Foundation」へ寄付されるそうだ。
