ニール・ヤングが、Spotifyで独占配信されているジョー・ローガンのポッドキャスト番組が“新型コロナウイルスのワクチンに関して間違った情報を広めている”と抗議し、同プラットフォームから自身の楽曲を引き上げたことについて様々な意見が寄せられているが、セバスチャン・バックはヤングを支持するという。

セバスチャンは、ヘイトブリードのヴォーカリスト、ジェイミー・ジャスタが「Spotifyはニールのことを気にかけていない。ローガンは問題じゃない」とつぶやいたことに対し、「ワクチンに関する間違った情報は、誰にとっても問題だ。ニール・ヤングは、ロックンロールの存続とファンの健康を願い、こうしたんだ。もう1人は、自分以外の人間や事柄なんてどうでもいいっていう完全なアホだ」と応酬した。

また、その2日後には「自分のことをロッカーだと呼んでいるにもかかわらず、ニール・ヤングに勝るとかいうポッドキャストやってる奴の側につくのなら、それを聴き続ければいいよ。俺はニール・ヤングを聴くことに固執する」とつぶやいた。

これは、言論の自由を守ったと、Spotifyの決断を称賛したディスターブドのデイヴィッド・ドレイマン（Vo）へ宛てたものだと考えられた。ドレイマンはセバスチャンとヤングに向け「俺もニール・ヤングを愛しているし、彼の音楽を聴き続けるよ、ブラザー。君を愛し、君の音楽を聴き続けるのと同じように。君らどちらに対してもリスペクト、敬服し続ける。俺が“味方”するのは、自由の面だけだ。そしてもちろん、君らが自分の意見を言うのは自由だ」と返信している。
