チルドレン・オブ・ボドムのアレキシ・ライホ、死去
フィンランド出身のメロディック・デスメタル・バンド、チルドレン・オブ・ボドムの創設者、アレキシ・ライホ（Vo,G）が、亡くなっていたことが公表された。まだ41歳だった。
ライホがダニエル・フレイベルグ（G）らと1年前に結成した新バンドBodom After Midnightは1月4日、レコード会社のSNSを通じ訃報を伝え、「親愛なる友人／バンド・メイトを突然喪い、非常にショックで悲しい」とコメントしている。メンバーから亡くなった日、死因等は明かされていないが、英国の『Daily Express』紙は、レコード会社（Napalm）からの話として、ライホは長い間健康問題を抱えており、先週、ヘルシンキにある自宅で死去したと報じている。
ライホの姉は「私たちは非常にショックを受け、打ちのめされています。この困難な時期、プライバシーの尊重とご理解を求めます。弟の葬儀は内輪で執り行います」と話している。

ライホは1993年にドラマーのヤスカ・ラーチカイネンと共にチルドレン・オブ・ボドムを結成。フィンランド出身の最もビッグなメタル・バンドの1つとなった。バンドは2019年12月に最後の公演を開き、ライホとフレイベルグは、ベーシストのMitja ToivonenとドラマーのWaltteri Väyrynenを迎え、Bodom After Midnightを結成し、活動を始めたばかりだった。
彼らは10月にフィンランドで初公演を開催。3曲のレコーディングとミュージック・ビデオ1作の撮影が済んでいると言われ、それらが今後、リリース／公開されるという。
マーティ・フリードマン、ジョー・ボナマッサ、ガス・G、ナイトウィッシュ、クリス・ブロデリック、Danko Jones、ラム・オブ・ゴッドのマーク・モートン、クイーンズライクのマイケル・ウィルトンら多くのミュージシャンが追悼の言葉を寄せている。

R.I.P. Alexi Lahio. Shocked and saddened to hear the news. I didn’t know him well but we did tour together on Gigantour. These photos were an after show party at The Rainbow, I think after a @FearFactory show in 2004.
