クイーン、英国で7月に記念切手が発売
英国の郵便事業を営むロイヤル・メールが、2020年に発売する記念切手の一覧（カレンダー）を発表した。
7月9日には「Queen」とあり、『LINN’S STAMP NEWS』によると、これはクイーンの誕生50周年を祝ってのスペシャル切手になるという。クイーンは1970年に前身のスマイルからクイーンにバンド名を変え、7月に初めてクイーンとしてライブを開いた。
ロイヤル・メールはこれまでに、デヴィッド・ボウイ、ピンク・フロイド、エルトン・ジョンらのアルバムのジャケ写をフィーチャーした記念切手を発売してきた。また、1999年には“ミレニアム切手”シリーズの1つとして、フレディ・マーキュリーの切手を発行している。
2020年はこのほか、ビデオ・ゲーム、ジェイムス・ボンド、ドラマ『Coronation Street』、シャーロック、ルパート・ベア、『スター・トレック』、第二次世界大戦の終わり、ウェストミンスター宮殿などをテーマにした記念切手も発売されるそうだ。

クイーンは今月25～30日に日本ツアーを開催。それに合わせ1月11～25日に渋谷、新宿、名古屋、大阪のTower Recordsに期間限定ショップがオープンする。
