デイヴ・ムステイン、咽頭癌を公表
メガデスのフロントマン、デイヴ・ムステインが咽頭がんと診断されたことを公表した。
ムステインは月曜日（6月17日）、SNSやオフィシャル・サイトに以下のようなメッセージを掲載した。「咽頭がんだと診断された。これは明らかに、配慮すべき、そして真っ向から対処すべきものだ──でも、俺はこれまでにいくつもの障害に直面してきた。医師たちと密接に取り組んでいるところだ。綿密な治療計画を立てており、彼らは成功率90％だと考えている。治療はすでに始まっている」
「残念ながら、このため年内の大半の公演を中止しなくてはならない。＜2019 Megacruise＞はある。メガデスは何らかの形でそれに参加する。最新の情報はわかり次第megadeth.comに掲載する。メガデスはできるだけ早くツアーに戻る。

メガデスは夏に北米とブラジルで数公演、ハロウィン（10月31日）に6枚目のスタジオ・アルバム『Youthanasia（ユースアネイジア）』の25周年を記念し、全曲をプレイする特別公演を米デンバーで開く予定だった。バンド初のクルーズ・フェスティバル＜MegaCruise 2019＞は10月13～18日に開催される。
バンド・メイトのデイヴィッド・エレフソンは「完全かつ速やかな回復を願い、我が友@DaveMustaineのために祈っている」とツイートしている。
