メタリカ、カリフォルニア山火事の救援活動に1,100万円を寄付
メタリカが、彼らが2017年に設立したチャリティ基金All Within My Hands Foundationを通じ、米カリフォルニアで発生した山火事の救援活動に計10万ドル（約1,130万円）を寄付した。
バンドは、「悲しいことに再び、カリフォルニアのコミュニティは歴史的にも酷い山火事に見舞われている。All Within My Handsは、North Velley Community FoundationとLos Angeles Fire Department Foundationへそれぞれ5万ドルを寄付した」との声明を出し、寄付、ボランティア活動などの支援を呼び掛けた。

メタリカは今月3日、All Within My Hands Foundationの設立から1年以上が経ったのを記念すると同時に基金を集めるため、チャリティ・イベントを開催し、レアなアコースティック・パフォーマンスを披露した。先週、そのライブ映像を公開している。ここではバンドのメモラビリアなどのオークションも開かれ、その夜、130万ドル（1億4,800万円）以上の支援金が集まったという。
All Within My Hands Foundationはこれまでに、メタリカがツアーで訪れた街のフードバンクをはじめ、恵まれない子供たちを支援するWorld Childhood Foundation、Stockholm City Mission、Afghanistan National Institute Of Musicなどへ多額の寄付を行なっている。
